Product Description

We custom-make all adjustable-beds here in Western Australia at our Osborne Park facility. By manufacturing beds to order, we can ensure it meets your individual needs, preferences and requirements. Thanks to the nature of the design, we can retro-fit any of the functionalities at a later date, such as the sonic massage option. If the bed is fitted with the dual lift and Hi-Lo function you will have a clearly labelled and easy to use 8-button remote.

The Hi-Lo function, also known as a horizontal lift, allows the bed to lift over 35cm up horizontally without interfering with any of the others main bed functions. This function is most commonly used if you require nurses or other healthcare proffesionals to attend to you while in bed. This could be for wound care, recover, personal care and more. The support organisations require this function to protect their staff from injuries caused by bending and stretching, as they can easily adjust the height of the bed to their preferred working height.

Some customers also use this function. Differently, they will sit on the edge of the bed wit both feet firmly planted on the ground and lift the bed, bringing them to a preched style position, making it a lot easier to stand-up.

Please note that this isn’t suitable for everyone and is requires the user to have a good sense of balance or a solid rail to hold on to to minimise the risk of slipping. A firm-edged mattress would also be recommended for this.

The Dual lift Function, This function allows you to raise and lower the backrest and the foot section of the bed to achieve a more comfortable sleeping position, as well as other activites, such as eating, watching television and entering/exiting the bed.

The head-lift function raises the top-end of the bed from a 0degree position to nearly 90degrees. You can stop and adjust the lift at any given time, irrespective of any other functions.

The leg-lift function will allow you to put your feet up after a long dayswork literally.  Raising your feet has many profen benefits and is one of our customers most favourite function. All our beds raise the feet from the knee (also known as knee-break) as this is a more natural position and reduces pressure on the joints.

Please note: that we recommend lowering the feet all the way, for easier entering and exiting of the adjustable-bed.

Standard Motobility Bed Features

Regardless of the function that you choose, you will be able to choose from 6 different mattress types, as a mattress is an individual choice.

Some of the benefits of choosing an Australian-made bed over an imported option are listed below for more information on what makes our beds so special click here.

One of the most crucial aspects of a bed is it’s bed height. In today's market bed heights differ hugely across the range, making it more about fashion than about finding a well functioning, comfortable and ergonomic bed. All our beds can have their bed height customised at no additional charge. Our standard bed height (including any of our mattresses) is 550mm from the floor to the top of the mattress; this can easily be raised to nearly any height required. The lowest height that we can achieve with the Hi-lo mechanism fitted is 530mm, due to the design of the lifting mechanism.

If you require or think you may need hoist-clearance, please let us know as we will make the bed to a height that will ensure easy access for hoists and other under bed equipment.

Our friendly team will be happy to help you determine the perfect bed height for you. To do this, we use a universal guide that states that while seated on the edge of the bed

  • Your knees and hips should be aligned (knees at 80degrees)
  • Your feet should be planted firmly on the ground

Many factors can affect your ideal bed-height

  • Choice of Mattress – a softer mattress which compresses more at the edges will require a higher bed height than mattresse with firmer sides.
  • Your abilities and struggles – the lower the bed is, the easier it is to lift your legs in/out. The higher the bed is, the easier it is to stand up from a seated positon. If you choose the high-lo function, we always recommend to go with the standard bed-height or lower as this will allow you to lift your legs into bed easily and you can raise the adjustable-bed to assist you in standing up.

You can also choose the size of the mattress, while we sell all standard bed sizes that are available at current retail shops, we also can extend or shorten the bed length. This can make a real difference for taller people, especially on an adjustable bed.We can accommodate all standard bed sizes as well as custom bed sizes.
