TERMS & CONDITIONS

 1. PAYMENT

Full payment for products must be made at the time of purchase or, if agreed by Motobility, a deposit may be paid with the remaining payment made prior to delivery being arranged.

 2. STORAGE

You must collect or take delivery of the products within 14 days from the day that we notify you that they are available. If you fail to do so, Motobility may charge storage fees of $50 per delivery per week and/or cancel your order.

 3. DELIVERY

Delivery charges and estimated times will depend on where your product is being delivered. You must ensure the correct delivery address and access details are provided to us. We shall use all reasonable endeavours to meet the estimated delivery date and timeframe. However, you agree that Motobility is not and will not be liable for any loss or damage; however, it arises if the products are not delivered within a reasonable time after the estimated delivery date. Products will only be delivered if a person aged over 18 years and able to accept delivery is at the delivery address. If we can not deliver the product at the agreed time because no one is home, we will re-schedule the delivery, and another delivery fee will be charged.

 4. WARRANTY

All new Motobility Adjustable Beds, Lift & Recline Chairs, Mobility Scooters, Powerchairs and Stairlifts are supplied with a 12-month back to base manufacturer’s warranty on all parts and labour when the product fault is deemed to be one of faulty manufacturing.

 

 4.1 Warranty Exclusions

  • Reasonable wear and tear
  • Collision damage
  • Power surges
  • Water damage
  • Incorrect usage, neglect, or overloading
  • Unauthorised repair or maintenance
  • User negligence
  • Accidental damage
  • Overloading
  • Consumables such as tyres, tubes, brushes, globes, and fuses
  • Second-hand products - Warranty period depends on price and condition of product
  • The use of couriers or freight companies to transport products to and from Motobility for repair or service, unless authorised by Motobility

 

 4.2 CALL OUT FEES

A call-out fee will be charged for a technician to attend your home, including assessing warranty matters. Please get in touch with us for our current fee schedule for Perth Metropolitan and regional areas. Please note that a prepayment of all service and repairs is required prior to Motobility attending. Prepayments can be made in a number of different ways including direct payments via bank transfer or credit card, Purchase Orders from Support Organisations, Service Bookings via the NDIS portal.

 

 4.3 EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTY

All new Motobility Adjustable Beds, WA Made Lift & Recline Chairs and Stairlifts are available to receive an extended service warranty.

To activate this extended warranty, the product must be serviced annually (Every 6 months for outdoor stairlifts) by an authorised Motobility service agent. Once the service is completed, the warranty on the product will be extended by 12 months. This annual service can be performed in our workshops or in your home. Please contact us for our current Service Fee & Call-out Fee Schedule. The extended warranty will cover the product for all parts and labour when the product fault is deemed to be one of faulty manufacturing but will not cover a call out fee.

Please note, Stairlifts and Platform Lifts require a more in-depth service and are charged at higher rates than other mobility equipment.

 If you choose not to service your Motobility product within 30 days of the annual service due date, the warranty will cease, and no further warranty coverage will be given on that product.

 

If you contact Motobility and request the annual service and Motobility cannot conduct the annual service due to travel or time constraints your warranty will be honoured until such time as the annual service is completed by Motobility.

 

This warranty is non-transferable and is effective from the date of delivery. If identical materials are not available at the time of repair or replacement, Motobility reserves the right to substitute materials of equal quality.  

 

All service invoices are to be paid upon completion of work. Motobility will not attend to any future service request or warranty claim where there has been an unpaid account.

 

4.4 EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIODS FOR MOTOBILITY PRODUCTS

4.4.1 ADJUSTABLE BEDS

5-year frame warranty

5-year mattress warranty – Provided by the manufacturer of the Mattress

5-year electrical automation/motor warranty

1-year massage system warranty – not extendable

Adjustable Bed Warranty

Your new custom-made adjustable bed comes with a comprehensive 5-year warranty. The warranty includes the motor, frame, and mattress. To uphold the warranty, an annual service of the bed is required. Please contact Motobility to arrange your scheduled service.

Warranty Warning
This adjustable bed is designed to require no maintenance from you, the user. Any opening or tampering with the control box, motors, or hand controls (except for the battery compartment, if equipped) will result in a void of the warranty. Only those authorised may conduct repairs or part replacement on your bed.

Proper operation of your adjustable bed is necessary to ensure the long life and durability you expect from a high-quality product. Motobility has tested and inspected your bed prior to delivery and installation.

4.4.2 LIFT & RECLINE CHAIRS 

Custom Made Chairs
Your new custom-made chair comes with a 5-year warranty.
The warranty includes the chair, fabric, foam and motor. To uphold the warranty, an annual service of the chair is required. Please contact Motobility to arrange your scheduled service.

Imported Chairs
Your new imported chair comes with a 12-month warranty.
The warranty includes the chair and the motor.

Warranty Warning & Exclusions
This lift and recline chair is designed to require no maintenance from you, the user. Any opening or tampering with the control box, motors, or hand controls (except for the battery compartment, if equipped) will void the warranty. Only those authorised may conduct repairs or part replacement on your chair.

Proper lift and recline chair operation is necessary to ensure the long life and durability you expect from a high-quality product. Motobility has tested and inspected your chair before delivery and installation.

Motobility lift, and recline chairs are designed as lounge chairs, not bed replacements. Pro-longed seating and overnight sleeping may lead to indentations and impressions forming prematurely in the foam. Taking a 1-hour break after 3 hours of sitting is recommended. Not following these recommendations may void your foam warranty.

4.4.5 SCOOTERS & POWERCHAIRS

1-year warranty for Quingo scooters (provided by Quingo Pacific) and a 1-year warranty on the battery itself (Provided by Motobility)

1-year warranty on all other scooters and powerchairs (electric wheelchairs)

 

4.6 STAIRLIFTS & PLATFORM LIFT ORDER AND CANCELLATION POLICY

  • All Motobility Stairlifts are made to order to fit your specific staircase. The manufacture of the stairlift is conducted by Stannah Stairlifts Pty Ltd in the UK.
  • A non-refundable 50% deposit must be paid to Motobility before your stairlift/platform lift will commence production.
  • Cancellation of a stairlift order that has not finished production and has not yet been shipped to Motobility will incur a forfeit of the full 50% deposit paid.
  • Cancellation of a stairlift order that has finished production will incur a forfeit of the full 50% deposit paid plus payment of the remaining balance will be required by Motobility. The goods will be delivered to you, but installation on your staircase is optional. The cost of installation will be deducted from the total cost if not installed.

 4.7 RETURNS, CHANGE OF MIND & CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCE

For products collected and paid for at the time of purchase in-store, in addition to the rights granted by applicable statute (including the Australian Consumer Law), if you change your mind, you may return the product within 7 days of the date of purchase provided that the product is

  • Returned in its original new and unused condition
  • Is in its original unopened and sealed packaging
  • Is accompanied by proof of purchase (the sales receipt or another acceptable form of proof of purchase).
  • A 20% restocking fee is paid

 

Excluded products are:

  • Clearance and sale of products;
  • Products sold as seconds, floor stock, repaired products, or products that have a defect where this has been drawn to the customer’s attention before the purchase of the product;
  • Upholstered and furniture products;
  • Made-to-order products – products that are made to individual customer specifications, including custom-made furniture products or custom fabric products, which have to be ordered specifically for a customer. Including all Beds and Mattresses
  • Stairlift & Platform Lift products – please refer to: 4.6 STAIRLIFTS ORDER AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Items posted are at the customer’s cost and risk, and Motobility shall not refund customers for any products that it does not receive or that it receives which are broken or damaged.


Except as set out above, Motobility shall not provide a refund or replacement if you simply change your mind unless Motobility chooses to do so at its absolute discretion.

 

If Motobility does accept such cancellations/returns, the customer must pay an amount (restocking fee) of 20% of the full purchase price, excluding any delivery charges.

Motobility shall set off this amount against any money already paid to us by the customer for this product and refund the balance. For any cancellation charges over and above what has already been paid to Motobility, the customer must pay such amounts to Motobility within 7 days of Motobility’s request to pay.

 

5. DEPOSITS

Deposits for custom-made products such as stairlifts, Platform lifts, Lift and recline chairs, and all Beds and Mattresses are non-refundable under any circumstance.

 

6. MADE TO ORDER STOCK

Notwithstanding any other provision of these terms and conditions, orders for products that are made to individual customer specifications, including custom-made furniture products or custom fabric products, including all beds and mattresses, which have to be ordered specifically for a customer, cannot be cancelled or returned if the customer decides the customer no longer wants the products.

 

7. SUPPORT ORGANISATIONS

If a client no longer requires a product ordered from Motobility due to a severe and unexpected change in circumstance, Motobility will cancel an existing order and charge a restocking fee of 10% to the Support Organisation. Provided that

  • The product has not yet been delivered.

 Excluded products are:

  • Custom-made products – products that are made to individual customer specifications, including custom-made furniture products and solutions, which have to be ordered or made specifically for a customer.
  • Stairlift & Platform Lift products – please refer to: 4.6 STAIRLIFTS ORDER AND CANCELLATION POLICY

If Motobility does accept such cancellations/returns, the customer must pay an amount (restocking fee) of 20% of the full purchase price, excluding any delivery charges.

Motobility shall set off this amount against any sums of money already paid to us by the Support Organisation for this product and refund the balance. For any cancellation charges over and above what has already been paid to Motobility, the Support Organisation must pay such amounts to Motobility within 7 days of Motobility’s request to pay.

8. Complimentary Roadside assistance

Motobility has engaged a 3rd party for this service. Motobility reserves the right to discontinue this promotion at any time and/or change the inclusions.
