Travel Mobility Scooters
Travel Mobility Scooters, as the name suggests, are designed for travel. Depending on the model, a travel-scooter can be manually or automatically folding and usually weighs between 21kg to 28kg, with some 3-wheel models weighing less, and with the capacity to carry up to 150kg, depending on the model. As a general rule of thumb, travel scooters come as a standard with a Plane-Safe Lithium Battery, and upon purchase, you will be supplied with an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) Certificate, which outlines that the battery has been tested and deemed safe for travel on Airplanes.
Motobility stocks a wide-range of high-quality travel scooters and our knowledgeable team is waiting to assist you with any queries that you may have. They can even organise a test drive for you in one of our Perth-based showrooms.

Did you know?
The first “travel-Scooter” was designed by Solax back in 1996 and was a massive breakthrough in the mobility market. Before the Solax Mobie, the only portable scooters available were scooters that “pull-apart”, while these scooters are still transportable and serve a variety of purposes, the Solax Mobie was the first scooter that simply folded down, without having to remove any components.
Travel Scooters are also suitable to be transported in the boot of a car for use at the shopping centre and other public places. You can take your travel scooter to explore Elizabeth Quay in Perth, take a trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney or take a ride in one of the accessible gondolas at the Wheel of Brisbane that soars above South Bank. While designed for indoor use, the scooter will handle well-paved footpaths well and can access any wheelchair ramps. The original travel-scooter concept was to create a product that can assist people in moving independently on a cruise ship. Hence this is a place where these small machines excel at. They even allow you to remove the armrests, to make it easier to fit through even the narrowest cabin doors.
If you are looking for a scooter that is better suited at outdoor use and is still portable, have a look at our range of portable scooters.
Another alternative to a travel scooter is a folding electric wheelchair. Just as convenient and portable as a travel-scooter, our E-Traveller Electric wheelchair range offers a slightly more versatile alternative. Find out more about the benefits of electric wheelchairs and explore our range here.
