Landing controls are created in an easy to use design and can be either mounted to a wall or handheld. This allows the user to call the lift to the bottom or top of the stairs as needed. A cabled handset rests on the platform and enable the user to hold it comfortably in their hands while they operate the lift. A joystick is also available as an optional control function. As the platformlift makes its way up or down the stairs, as an added safety feature, two arms lower automatically.
